September 12-November 22, 2010

God called 12 guys during a 300-year period to be his voice. They were teammates who didn't always know each other. They are The Minors (often referred to as the Minor Prophets). Their lives and their messages were tough, but they changed the world and they have the power to do it again. This series will let their voices be heard and the God behind them to speak again. We will listen to at least one of them through their book in the Bible each week.

September 12: Introduction & Hosea
Hosea reminds us of God's unrelenting love for his wandering people. And we tend to wander.

September 19: Joel
Joel declares there will be a day when we will come face-to-face with God and receive reward or punishment. We need to be ready.

September 26: Amos
Amos calls us to a consistent life that loves God wholeheartedly so that we fight against social injustice. And injustice is everywhere.

October 3: Obadiah
Obadiah sees the problem of secular wisdom and unchecked evil around us. We are going to have to trust God.

October 10: Jonah
Jonah's fish story shows us that God is creator, sustainer, and even redeemer of all nations, and it challenges us to be a part of the plan to reach those nations. We should go.

October 17: Micah
Micah demands us to walk in harmony with God, and he promises we will receive blessing from God. Let's start walking.

October 24: Nahum
Nahum models for us how to stand up against powerful people and institutions to speak for God and his ways. We have to stoke the courage.

October 31: Habakkuk
Habakkuk struggled with the success of the bad people, but now he teaches us to trust God and live by faith when circumstances are difficult and bleak. Often they are quite difficult.

November 7: Zephaniah
Zephaniah wants revival for us and says it will come if we get rid of religious syncretism and commit to purity in belief and worship and ethics. So many want to make their own religion.

November 14: Haggai & Zechariah
Haggai and Zechariah push people to truly put God first in their lives and experience living within his presence. Oh, we do want that.

November 22 (Thanksgiving): Malachi
Malachi warns us about spiritual apathy and helps us long for Jesus. Thankfully, we can know Jesus intimately now.
